Getting engaged is one of the most exciting milestones in your life. As you make your journey to the altar, there are lots of exciting details to attend to. Along with the location of your Chicago wedding, the flowers, and photographer, the most important detail is you. On a day when you are the main focus of the party, you need to be ready. You want to wake up the morning of your wedding day feeling and looking healthy, confident, and radiant. One sure way to make sure that happens is by building exercise into your engagement planning.

Exercising is the most important thing you can do for yourself during this time. You are going to be very busy, and yes, you will have to make the time to exercise. There will be ups and downs to your wedding planning and anything can go wrong. Whether it’s receiving misprinted invitations or figuring out where you’re going to seat those crazy relatives, you will want an outlet to release that stress. There’s no more constructive way to release that stress than through exercise. You’ll feel much better when you’re done because you have stepped away from the issue, cleared your mind, and probably feel more confident after completing a workout. If you have a workout partner or trainer, you can certainly fill them in on whatever you’re tackling as well. One of the reasons my bridal clients enjoy seeing me is because they feel they can vent during their workouts. The entire session is a release for the mind and body.
Wedding planning is sure to be one of the busiest periods in your life; therefore you have no time to be sick. Numerous studies have found that exercising regularly can boost your immune system. In a study from the British Journal of Sports Medicine, it was found that individuals “who were fit and exercised frequently were much less likely to develop a cold, and when they did, it was much less severe.” Your wedding festivities are no time for a cold to creep up. Get that body moving and that blood flowing to improve your chances of having a wonderful healthy day.
Another reason it’s important to exercise during your engagement is because of your pictures. You may or may not be used to a photographer snapping your pictures, but on your big day you want to enjoy every minute of those photo sessions. Making sure your body is in the best shape it can be will give you the confidence to strut and pose in that dress. When you’re confident and having fun it will show through in your pictures. Since you will be looking back at your wedding photos for the rest of your life, why not ensure they are your best photos yet?
If your honeymoon falls right after the wedding, you will surely benefit from an engagement exercise routine. If you’re heading to a tropical destination, you will feel ready to throw on that swimsuit and hit the beach. Traveling to a rustic or explorative destination? You’ll be ready to hit the slopes or walk the streets of Europe without feeling winded and exhausted after a short time. No matter where your honeymoon takes you or what activities you participate in, exercise will surely get you ready.
Getting into an exercise routine is a great way to positively impact your entire engagement and wedding experience. More than anything, when you are confident about how you look, you feel good. When you feel good, it radiates from within and you are able to put your best self out there. Exercising will prepare you physically and mentally for the big day. Now, start moving, get that heart rate up and be ready for your exciting journey ahead.
