Lush flowers and natural elements set the mood for a breathtaking “green” fête at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, captured by the talented Carasco Photography. Elizabeth Wray Design created romantic, fresh-from-the-garden-style bouquets and centerpieces for an overall ambiance. This earth-conscious couple’s mission was to keep waste to a minimum, so all dècor and materials were selected if they were “green” or could easily be repurposed after their event. Apothecary jars were filled with “family favorite” goodies for their guests and now hold bath salts. Two large urns containing pear trees formed an arbor for the ceremony and are now used as planters, while the pear trees were relocated to the bride’s parents’ yard. And in lieu of a guest book, guests filled in a “family tree” with their green “leaf” thumbprints.
Nestled in the heart of Lincoln Park, The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum features glorious gardens and captivating views of Chicago’s skyline and North Pond. This spectacular venue can easily accomodate small, intimate gatherings or grand affairs.
