Let’s face it: many a bride might scoff at the idea of a 4th of July wedding for fear of being backed into a corner with far too many flags, a plethora of stars and stripes, and a spell bounding fireworks show. All tacky and trite details aside, we believe a pop of patriotism executed in the chicest of ways can transform a holiday-day themed soiree from “You’re A Grand Ol’ Flag” to simply beautiful. (Besides, we here at Be U Weddings can’t get enough blue and white striped design in the summer!) The key to not going overboard is simply that: Opt for subtle touches. Love America’s color palette? Infuse your tablescape with classic blue china, lace runners, and a rosy red floral scheme. Or, let your food steal the show. Whip up adorable licorice favors (as seen below), and wrap them in star-printed paper. And if fireworks don’t top your “must-have” list, pass out super fun (and still sophisticated!) sparklers.

Check out some of our favorite wedding snapshots with a nod to red, white and blue. Happy 4th of July!
