From the Bride: Our story begins in January of 2011. Vishal’s cousin (who had been a mutual friend of mine since we were children) had asked me if I was single and interested in meeting someone (her cousin). I very quickly shot her down that first time but she was quite persistent for the next several months. Finally, I gave in and told her I would talk to her cousin. THAT decision was the best one I have ever made in my life. A couple days later, Vishal sent me an email and I replied and gave him my phone number and we started talking pretty much every day. In a short amount of time, I became extremely fond of Vishal, as many people do after they meet him. A couple months later, he flew to Houston to come visit me for the first time, that trip was unforgettable; he was everything I’d hoped he would be and more. From the day we met, I saw how strikingly different he was from anyone I had ever known. Several months went by and I found myself falling in love with this handsome guy. Both Vishal and I knew by this time that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together so we had our parents meet and 6 months later, I flew to Chicago to visit Vishal for July 4 and he got down on one knee and proposed! That moment, took my breath away. Every detail was well thought out and perfect…from the skyline, to the beautiful planetarium, to our amazing photographers and even the unexpected rain! I thank God every day for helping Vishal and I find one another. Because of Vishal, I have come to understand the true meaning of love as it was meant to be. It is grace, a necessary redemption, and a beautiful transcendence from the ugliness that we may encounter in our everyday lives. Someone once told me that you find the most happiness in life in the small, seemingly insignificant things. There is wisdom in that statement, because I found my happiness from responding to a simple email.
