If you were in the city this past weekend, you definitely felt it. As you dusted off your trusty boots or snuggled up with a cozy scarf,  it was hard to deny: Fall is creeping in on us! There’s something about a crispness to the air that immediately drums up the scents of pumpkin spice, sounds of crinkled leaves and the warmth of home-cooked chili. Or, what about the rustic aroma of marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers? That’s right—we’re talking s’mores.

We aren’t the only ones who think this campfire treat has proven its staying power. Debi Lilly, chief eventeur of A Perfect Event and planner extraordinaire, touts the once elementary dessert as an interactive and adorable display to complement any fall nuptials. Featured as an industry expert in the likes of InStyle and Martha Stewart Weddings and personally approved by Oprah Winfrey herself, Debi is certainly one to know, wouldn’t you say?

Today we’re featuring A Perfect Event’s do-it-yourself s’mores bar as the perfect addition for your rustic autumnal wedding. It’s simple and stunning—what s’more could you ask for? Read on for Debi’s tips!

Ahhh, a favorite late-night wedding treat—no matter the season—is a make-your-own s’mores bar. And it’s as easy as one, two, three!
Supplies:
Marshmallows
Glass cylinder
Dried white beans
Wooden skewers
Chocolate candies
Cookies and graham crackers
Two platters
Directions:
1.  First, create a marshmallow “bouquet.” Fill a glass cylinder (these are our Debi Lilly Design Illusion Vases, available at Safeway/Dominick’s) with dried white beans. Skewer marshmallows onto wooden skewers, and arrange them inside the vase into a rounded “bouquet.”

2.  On a platter, arrange chocolate candies in rows, for all sorts of sweet tastes and treats. Don’t just stick to one flavor: Hershey’s milk, almond and dark chocolate; caramel bars; Reese’s peanut butter cups; York Peppermint Patties, and more make fun, surprising chocolates to create s’mores.

3.  On a second platter, arrange cookies and graham crackers in rows by type. Again, look beyond the graham cracker: from chocolate chip pecan, to gingerbread and peanut butter, all make sensational s’mores sandwiches.
