The Ivy Room Chicago Wedding
Cheers to a stylish, fun-loving couple who know how to plan the ultimate Chicago wedding party, captured by the talented Robyn Rachel Photography. Kehoe Designs transformed the historic Ivy Room at Tree Studios into a luxurious, swanky space with mood lighting and dramatic sapphire blue and yellow table decor. We’re head over heels for the bride’s divine cobalt blue Manolo Blahnik stilettos and stunning gown, reminiscent of Old Hollywood glamour. Since the groom is a chef, guests were treated to the very best cuisine (and some late night Chicago-style hot dogs and cheese fries) catered by Blue Plate.
A modern venue in the heart of River North at Medinah Tree Studios, The Ivy Room embodies a history of artistic elegance. The ballroom features beautiful breathtaking views of the courtyard garden, transforming any event into an extraordinary experience. Visit their online gallery for more wedding inspiration.
From the Bride: With my husband being a chef, food was the most important thing to him. Blue Plate catered the event. We had amazing passed hors’ deouvers, a summertime salad, a filet of beef and pesto rubbed chicken and of course wedding cake! The design of the wedding cake was simple and elegant. The tiers of the cake were round but varying heights. Some were tall, and some were short and squat. We did a fresh floral topper and the paisley design that was strung throughout the whole wedding was piped onto every other tier.
Our guests feasted on late night fuel, which included cheese fries and mini Chicago style hot dogs. Towards the end of the night, each guest had a glow in the dark ice cube in his or her drink to give the night the ultimate party feel.
We chose to host our reception at the Ivy Room at Tree Studios in Chicago. It is truly a diamond in the rough. Living in downtown Chicago for over 6 years, I never even knew this place existed, but probably walked past it 100 times. It is a beautiful room with hard wood floors and a blank palette that you can completely customize to whatever your heart desired. Just what the doctor ordered. The courtyard has a beautiful path, lights strung on tree branches and lush green ivy everywhere.
Kehoe designs helped out with designing the space. Throughout all the planning, I feel like this is where most of the blood, sweat and tears were spent. We worked so hard on this room and the time had come to see it all put together. Surprisingly, I did not cry all that much throughout the day, but when I saw our room for the first time, I cried! That was truly what I loved most!
We had a gorgeous drum chandelier in the middle of the room that hung 4 chandeliers within it. It is common at the ivy room for brides to want an ivy pattern reflected on the blank walls, but I wanted to do something different. I decided to incorporate the paisley pattern that was on our save the dates to reflect on the wall. It turned out absolutely gorgeous and gave the atmosphere a very fairytale like feel.
All of our vendors were amazing, but if there were any who stood out the most it was Susan Cordogan of Big City Bride, Robyn Rachel Photography and our DJ, Monastero Entertainment.

I just love the color combinations with the blues and the yellow flowers. I just love the flowers on the cake, so pretty!
