With visions of tulle gowns dancing in your head, you’ve decided upon a custom gown for your grand entrance. Unlike Cinderella, you do not need to call on a fairy godmother to transform your dream into a reality. Join Chicago’s top wedding designers as they help guide you through the custom creation process on Sunday, October 21st at Bridal Brunch: From Fit to Fabric.

Hosts Mignonette Bridal and Supreme Novelty Fabric look forward to educating brides on each stop of designing your dream gown. “We will have muslins, sketches, and patterns on display to help brides understand what goes into making a custom wedding gown,” Julia Tiedt of Supreme Novelty Fabric explains. Tiedt let us delve a little deeper to find out just what you can expect at this fabulous fete.

Q: How did this Bridal Brunch come to be?
A: “In a traditional fashion show, the last dress to walk the runway is a wedding dress. It was from that tradition that made us think: What better way to end Fashion Focus then with a bridal event? Fashion Focus does a great job year to year of showcasing Chicago’s most talented designers, but it has not had an event that specifically focuses on the local bridal designers. We wanted to change that. Bridal designers come into our store with their bridal clients daily. We see firsthand the benefits a bride has when she works with a custom bridal designer. The bride is there through the whole process; she is picking out the fabric, approving the design, and getting to tweak until it becomes the dress of her dreams. A bride who wants to create a one-of-a-kind, amazingly constructed dress would benefit greatly from an event like this!

Q: What sets this brunch apart from other bridal events?
A: “A bride attending the Bridal Brunch is not just walking into Supreme Novelty Fabrics for a bridal event, she is walking into an in-depth look at the process each designer goes through when creating a wedding dress. Not only will a bride see different options of wedding dresses, but she will also be exposed to a florist (Fleur), a cakery (Luscious Layers), a chocolatier (Katherine Anne Confections), and much more! The first 30 guests will receive goodie bags courtesy of Supreme Novelty Fabric and our sponsors, including Aroma Workshop, The Way We Click Photography and Kristena Witherspoon Designs.
Get your tickets now to ensure your firsthand look at new 2013 designs and the opportunity to chat with the designers. The proceeds from your $10 admission will benefit the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation. Want some more bridal gown know-how?
