Could it be as easy as 1,2,3? DIY Sweet Table Chic
We’re turning the tables to get to the bottom of all the beautiful table tops that A Perfect Event is churning out. It is no surprise that the powerhouse team is curating chic delights every time we turn around, after all chief eventeur Debi Lilly is Windy City LIVE’s party-girl on call. Now she is letting us in on the secret to her dining envy. Last week we were gilded to perfection and this week the Perfect team sweetens the pot.

We love nothing more than sharing our favorite styling tips and tricks. This week, with our Live Wedding Lookbook rapidly approaching Thursday at A Perfect Event, we are obsessed with setting the perfect sweets table. Here – we open our little black book – just for you – step by step.

1. Layer a “base” design, with a colorful, patterned table linen.Set the table (I prefer a long six or eight foot rectangular table) with a linen in your color palette. Pattern and bold hues are 2013′s big linen trends – and this Tory Burch inspired quadrafoil design (Pistachio Mandalay from BBJLinen) is my must have.

2 . Set the scene. Choose decorative chargers, plates, cake stands and more to display sweets and treats. My favorite – using vintage cut crystal oversize charger plates, smaller petite salad plates, compotes, relish trays and parfait glasses arranged in a thoughtful, elegant collection.
Fast and easy DIY – turn parfait bowls upside down – so wide mouth is on top table. Set a matching crystal plate on top, and instant, elevated cake stand. (These, all Tablescape Party Rental)

3. Design a delightful dessert menu. Here comes the fun part – mixing together his and hers favorites for guests to snack the night away. Does he love donuts? (Yep, they all do.). My pick: Glazed and Infused on Armitage. From classic old school glazed standards, to modern millennial bacon maple long-johns, to crazy cool Red Velvet – we have you covered. And Baked the Bakery – so beautiful – with St. Germain Berry Bombs, to macaroons, to rich infused brownies…they do it all, just for you.
Now join in the fun – and sip, snack and savor
